Overconfidence is gonna cost us games if we go in playing games like last night. We didn't start playing hard from the get go, and when we did it was too late. Taking the crappy teams lightly was a problem we had last year, always thinking we could just come back late. Hope they dont make a habit out of this blubster |

Overconfidence has nothing to do with it....the Lakers played a terrible game, had about 25 turnovers and they have TERRIBLE defense.

Credit the Grizz for their tenacious D 1st and forall, they contested shots, and forced the Lakers into many turnovers. They got like 17 steals or something.
The Lakers aren't playing good defense right now. It showed in the SA series, and I thought they should have addressed that. It'll take a while before they play defense optimally. |

I agree, Overconfidence is a factor with this Laker team. they need to start out playing as hard as they can. Shut teams down right from the start and go up 20 to 30 points in the first half and your opponent will lose the desire to play. Do that to enough teams and the entire league will doubt whether they can beat the lakers. as it stands now, no one is afraid of this team but they should be. Wensdays game against the Raptors showed us one thing (Other than Malones horiible free throw that didn't even thouch net). The Lakers turned on the defense in the 4th and really showed why they have 3 players who were on the 1st team all defense. It's still early in the season. kobe hasn't had much time with this team in actuall game play. I think that as the season progresses we will see a Laker team like no other.
